National Fleet Management has been delivering professional fleet repair and maintenance services to the people of North Carolina since 2008. As NFM continues to grow, we have an opening for an Outside Parts & Service Salesperson.The role of the Outside Parts & Service Salesperson is to develop and achieve maximum profitable sales volume of products and services from assigned accounts in a designated territory. The role analyzes customer operations to discover future parts, service, and truck requirements.


  • Treat customers and employees with courtesy and respect.
  • Oversee operations of assigned customers.
  • Plan territory coverage and call upon key accounts (current and prospective) regularly.
  • Advise or assist customers in such areas as inventory selection and control, service available, new products and services, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain knowledge of sales and marketing conditions and trends. Perform research and analysis of local market conditions to identify sales opportunities and develop market-specific promotion programs with Shop Manager.
  • Take parts orders, introduce new products and promotions, reemphasize existing products and services and provide literature as necessary.
  • Work with vendors to obtain current product features and benefits. Seek vendor assistance in obtaining new customers when appropriate. Attend product knowledge classes as requested by ownership. Join and attend local traffic clubs and meetings as directed by ownership.
  • Provide credit applications to current and new customers. Handle billing disputes between customer and the company. Mediate all concerns between customer and company.
  • Work with coworkers to reduce conflict and maximize profitability. Prepare for and participate in meetings with coworkers and owners.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management related to sales, customer relations, and growth.


  • Performance standards for this position are met when:
  • Assigned labor and parts sales meet monthly objectives established by Ownership.
  • Maintain a healthy gross profit percentage.
  • Complete call reports are submitted as requested (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Potential new customers are visited with appropriate follow up.
  • Current customers are visited regularly with appropriate follow up.

Previous heavy-duty truck experience preferred
